Know What is Tummy Tuck Surgery (Abdominoplasty)? It’s Procedure and Recovery
Tummy tuck or lipoabdominoplasty is one of the body contouring procedures, which helps to re-contour your body following pregnancy or massive weight loss. Just like liposuction addresses exercise-resistant fat, tummy tuck or lipoabdominoplasty in combination with liposuction addresses areas where you have excess fat, loose skin typically below the navel, and any kind of laxity of the abdominal wall, which gives you a bulge on your abdomen.
During surgery, the excess skin which is there below the navel is addressed by excision and you get a bikini line scar following the procedure. The umbilicus is repositioned to give you a more youthful appearance of the abdomen.
The procedure is done under general anesthesia. Typically, you need admission overnight or for 2 days if the surgery is combined with any procedure of lower body contouring with liposuction. You could address your thighs, the hips, and the buttocks during the course of this procedure to give a proper, complete lower body contouring.
